Ooops!

With two web sites for selling all the stuff I make, a family, a job, a hubby that's another full-time job, and a blog in another site, this one seems to get neglected toe most.  I apologize, though it probably will happen again.  Not by design, though.  Just too busy living to post.

Into The Mist Bandana Purse

This purse was made with two black -to-grey bandanas, with wide black grosgrain ribbon double layered for extra strength.  The Zigzag stitching in a contrasting colour serve to both reinforce the strength as well as give it a lively look  - form and function together in one tidy step.   The pretty filigree pearl button at the top is the closure holding a tiny silky white satin loop closed.  Little white buttons on each corner give it a secretly sassy look that  wink at you with every step.  This oh-so-cute purse is a one of a kind and available now at www.Neecy'sNecessities.com  Be sure to stop in, say hi, and look around for a while.  We just keep adding new things all the time.  You just never know what you might find in our little up and coming boutique that'll strike your fancy.

The top pic is of the Green Tea & Cucumber Soap, made with brewed, cooled, and unsweetened green tea, with the addition of a fragrance oil of Green Tea & Cucumber.  A bit of Hydrated Green Chrome from Bramble Berry colour in one part and some Titanium Dioxide in the rest made it whiter, so the green will really stand out.  The scent is greeny with a bit of a twang.  They looked short being in two loaves rather than one that's really deep and the leftovers in something else.  I had a hard time deciding whether to make one regular height loaf and put the leftover into individual molds, or do two shorter loaves, and the results are as you see - I ended up doing 2 shorter loaves.  I just cut them thicker so they'd have more substance in each bar.  They ended up as three bars from each loaf rather than four.  The soap started to get a bit firm on me in the bowl (might have to leave out the SL next time!) so I got some bubbles!  Not happy.  But the scent and colours are great, so that helps offset the bubbles on the negative side.

The bottom pic is the White Tea with Mango & Peach.  I used a bit of Mango butter for a superfatting element, swirled a bit of coral mica into a part of the main soap batter, added TD to the rest, used sodium lactate (same problem as the Green Tea, started firming up quickly), and a Peach scent.  The colour hasn't stayed as strong as I'd have liked, there is a bit of bleeding as well, and there are a few bubbles, but not as problematic as in the Green Tea.  Still, it smells out of this world lovely.  Subtle sweet, slightly mellow in tone.  Very nice.

These will be user friendly around October 9th.  Can't wait to see how they perform.

Neon Dreams

Neon Dream - bright colors & cheerful messages and images  will keep you smiling all the time with this colorful purse.  Makes me think of soda fountains with their soft ice cream and the neon signs flashing in their windows hawking the frosty treat on hot summer days. Wide white satin ribbon overlaid with orange grosgrain for the straps, skinny satin white ribbon tie up the ends, and perky polka dotted buttons decorate the corner flaps and make a button and loop closure at the top.  Such a treat, like an orange creamsicle!  $25

Firecracker!

Today's July 1st and what better way to start off the month of July and our country's independence month than with a hot little number I call 'Firecracker".  Josh Turner's sexy baritone voiced was running through my mind while I stitched this one together, so the name seemed appropriate.  The hubby helped me decide between two and this one seemed the best one.  

Made with two red-fades-to-yellow bandannas placed in opposing placement on each other, stitched down, the corners are accented with little white buttons that pull the white stripes from the bandana pattern, held down with 1/8" ribbon, the same ribbon on each end closes it up, and the straps are 1" wide yellow grosgrain ribbon with an overlay of orange sheer 1/4" ribbon zigzag stitched down the center. Red loop and white button closure at the top.  $25.

...."My little darlin' is a...firecracker!"

Here's today's project, which kept me indoors out of the 104 degree heat.  Probably saved me from getting heat stroke, so it's a lifesaver already!  This one's Purple Pigtails.  It was Purple Passion, but then I decided I wanted to 'do up' the corners and give it pigtails, and once it was done, it looked pretty cute so I left it that way.  A name change was in order, so Purple Pigtails is its new identity.  This one's also 425, just like all the others.  Of course you can always order bath & body items, fill it up, and call it a Spa bag or a Gift Bag for yourself or someone special.
